How the activity works

1

🗺️ Organisation & How it works

⚙️ Phase 1 — The Material Retrieval Challenges
Before you can build, you have to earn your resources! Teams go head-to-head in a series of challenges, with the rewards being the materials needed for construction: logs, barrels, inflatable tubes, beams, ropes… Every victory brings you closer to your dream vessel — every point matters !

🪵 Phase 2 — Building the Raft
Time to unleash your ingenuity! Using the materials collected, each team must design and assemble their own raft capable of floating and carrying all its members. Organisation, communication, creativity and precision with your knots are your greatest assets — because a loose structure means a guaranteed swim !

🌊 Phase 3 — The Raft Clash!
The moment of truth has arrived! The vessels hit the water and teams clash in true lake warrior style, taking part in nautical jousting — an ancestral tradition of the lake-dwelling communities of the Alps. Speed, stability and strategy will decide the champion. Be the fastest and most solid team on the water to claim the ultimate title !

Do participants need to know how to swim ?

As the activity takes place on Lake, basic swimming ability is recommended. Life jackets are provided and worn by all participants throughout the activity. Safety is Takamaka's absolute top priority at all times.

Do you need construction or sailing skills ?

Not at all ! That's precisely what makes the Raft Building Challenge so special: ingenuity and team spirit always trump technical expertise. Takamaka's guides brief all participants on the construction basics and ensure safety throughout the entire experience.

How long does the activity last ?

The Raft Building Challenge runs over a half-day (approximately 2 hours to 2h30), covering the material retrieval challenges, the construction phase and the nautical jousting on the lake. It fits seamlessly into a full seminar day.

How many participants can take part ?

The activity scales to different group sizes. The team-based format allows both small groups and larger seminars to participate. Contact Takamaka for a personalised quote based on your headcount.

What happens if a raft sinks ?

It's all part of the adventure — and often one of the funniest moments of the day! All participants wear life jackets and the Takamaka team provides constant supervision on and around the lake to ensure everyone's safety at all times.

What should participants wear ?

A change of clothes and outfits that can get wet are strongly recommended — this is a water activity, and splashes (or worse!) are very much part of the experience! Changing facilities can be arranged depending on the venue.
